Lumix Solar Solutions
A Simple System to Generate Qualified Solar Leads
Not just more leads… but the right homeowners who are actually ready to switch.

THE CHALLENGE
When I looked into how most solar companies are generating leads…
I noticed a common pattern.
They were getting leads, yes —
but not the kind that actually turn into customers.
A lot of them were coming from shared platforms…
where the same lead is sold to multiple companies.
And most of those people?
- Either don’t own a home
- Or are just “exploring” with no real intent
So the sales teams end up spending hours calling people
who were never serious in the first place.
That’s where the real problem was.
- It wasn’t about getting more leads.
- It was about getting the right leads.
Ideal focus we defined:
- Homeowners only
- Electricity bill around $200+
- People who are actually open to saving long-term
THE STRATEGY
Instead of chasing volume…
I focused on building a simple system that filters quality upfront.
Platform
We used Facebook & Instagram lead forms
(because that’s where homeowners are already spending time).
The Key Difference — Filtering
Rather than collecting random names and numbers…
we added a short 5-step questionnaire inside the form.
Simple questions like:
- Do you own your home?
- What’s your average electricity bill?
- Your ZIP code
- Property type
- Interest level in solar
Nothing complicated…
but enough to filter out people who aren’t a good fit.
So instead of chasing 100 low-quality leads…
we focus on fewer, but serious ones.
Creative Approach
I didn’t want ads that look like ads.
So instead of saying
“Install solar panels today”
We focused on what people are already feeling:
- Rising electricity bills
- Frustration with utility companies
- Fear of future price increases
Simple messaging like:
- “Stop paying the utility company forever”
- “Lock your energy cost”
Because that’s what actually connects.
AD CREATIVES
These creatives were designed around real homeowner pain points.
Not features. Not technical jargon.
Just simple, relatable ideas:
- Bill going up every month
- Solar as a stable alternative
- Options like $0 down to reduce hesitation
The goal wasn’t to impress…
It was to make someone stop and think,
“Wait… this actually makes sense.”
AUTOMATION FLOW
One more thing I noticed…
Even when companies get a good lead,
they take too long to respond.
And by the time they call…
the lead has already lost interest.
So I added a simple follow-up system:
👉 Someone fills the form
→ They instantly receive an SMS
→ After a few minutes, a follow-up email
→ Then a direct link to book an appointment
No delays. No confusion.
This way, the lead feels attended immediately…
and chances of booking increase naturally.
👉 Compared to manual calling, this is much faster
and more consistent.
RESULTS
Now to keep things honest and practical…
Here’s what a small campaign like this typically looks like:
- Ad Spend: $500
- Leads Generated: Around 30–35 (filtered & relevant)
- Cost Per Lead: Roughly $14–$18
- Appointments Booked: 8–10
Nothing crazy. Nothing unrealistic.
But these are the kind of numbers that actually make sense
for a local solar business.
